Here at Muster Park we manage this land in a way that follows regenerative grazing practices. The things we do, and things we do not, are designed to help this country manage itself back to a state of ever improving health.

It all starts with the soil, healthy soil = healthy plants = healthy livestock = healthy people. We manage for soil health all year round by promoting biodiversity, improving ground cover, and growing as many green plants as we can. It also means minimising the use of any chemicals and machinery.

We manage our livestock using Holistic Grazing techniques (see Allan Savoury and Dr Terry McCosker (OAM) - RCS Australia). Our cattle are allowed short grazing periods in a particular area which then receives a very long rest period to allow the desirable plants plenty of time to recover. This method of grazing has been proven over many years, by many farmers around the world to increase soil carbon, as more living plants are able to draw down more carbon from the atmosphere (where it is harmful ie. climate change) and store it in the soil where it is beneficial. It feeds the vast array of life below the ground, which in-turn feeds the plants and so on.

This sequestration of carbon into the soil in regenerative farming is believed to hold real beneficial outcomes for the future health of the planet.
